ReHome New York home energy loans are offered through a public/private partnership with the state of New York to help homeowners take advantage of thousands of money­saving efficiency upgrades. Financing is easy and approvals are fast. 

Thousands of projects are eligible: Replace an outdated furnace, upgrade to energy efficient windows and doors, install a new solar system, or even replace an older roof. Plus, up to 25% of the loan amount can be used for other home improvements. 

Low fixed rate, long payment terms 

Many financing programs offer promotional or "teaser" interest rates that skyrocket if the loan balance is not paid off within the promotional period. ReHome New York loans are fixed­-rate loans that will never surprise you with rate hikes. The interest rate will never change, and ReHome New York offers longer terms than typical bank financing. Plus, with no penalty for prepayment, you can pay it off or make additional principal payments at any time.

How are loan payments made?

Your ReHome New York loan payment will be billed monthly, just like a standard home improvement loan.

Do I need to complete an energy audit of my home to qualify?

No, but it is encouraged. In certain cases, a property owner may want to have a qualified auditor evaluate his or her home to determine the most cost-effective measures to reduce the home's energy use. The costs of an energy assessment also can be financed with your loan.

Is there an application fee?

No, there is no fee to apply.

Can I use any contractor?

All contractors used must be ReHome New York Registered Contractors. If you have a contractor you are already working with who is not currently registered, they may quickly and easily register with ReHome New York, so long as they meet program requirements. You may direct them to our online enrollment form to start the process. All registered contractors must have a valid and active contracto's license with CSLB.

Why do you need my Social Security Number on the application?

As part of the application, the program requests a credit bureau report for each homeowner. Personal credit score is used as part of the application, as well as other elements of the credit report.
